Born in Prague, I spent my formative years in Sheffield. I soaked up the new culture through my palate and very much continue to do so. Writing a food blog is a logical consequence of my love of food and the need for a creative outlet – don’t expect me to just share a recipe.

To me food is not just fuel. The food I cook and eat affects my mood and my state of mind, I am a great believer in the soothing and healing effects of great food and the therapeutic effects of cooking. I write about food – obviously – in relation to memories of my childhood, hand-me-down family recipes and food as a vehicle for social interaction. I try to cook healthy and wholesome with the occasional naughty treat thrown in for good measure. I also review restaurants and culinary events.

I have recently moved to Liverpool whose vibrant restaurant scene is a constant source of amazement.
